VOLOTEA AND ATITECH SIGN FIVE-YEAR MAINTENANCE CONTRACT
The agreement covers the airline’s A320 fleet, with Atitech providing base maintenance services that will ensure the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability.
Through this partnership, Volotea strengthens its ties to the Campania region, where it also recently announced expanded operations to include services at Salerno Airport starting this summer.
Barcelona/Naples, May 9th, 2024 – Carlos Muñoz, Founder and CEO of Volotea, and Gianni Lettieri, President and CEO of Atitech, have signed a major contract for Atitech to provide maintenance services to the airline’s fleet.
This agreement unites two leading companies in European civil aviation: Volotea, the airline known for connecting small and medium-sized cities with one of the highest growth rates in Europe, and Atitech, recognized as the largest independent Maintenance and Repair Organization (MRO) in the EMEA market. The airline has a well-established presence across 23 airports in Italy, and it is precisely in Naples that the carrier maintains one of its eight Italian bases, confirming the centrality of the Neapolitan airport in its growth strategies. In Campania, Volotea was also the first airline to announce the start of its operations at Salerno airport, further strengthening its presence in the region.
The partnership is set for five years and specifically targets Volotea’s Airbus A320 fleet. Atitech’s hangars at Naples Capodichino will dedicate a minimum of two bays to the maintenance activity, which will be carried out in nose-to-tail mode—a continuous chain—throughout the air transport winter season (October 29, 2024, to March 26, 2025).
Under the agreement, Atitech will provide base maintenance services to Volotea on a non-exclusive basis, upholding the highest safety, efficiency, and reliability standards. The scope of activities may include C-type “heavy maintenance,” comprehensive heavy checks, and Aircraft-On-Ground support.
“The solid partnership with companies such as Airbus, GE, and now Atitech is one of the winning elements of our continuous, solid growth,” says Carlos Muñoz, Founder and CEO of Volotea. “We have ambitious goals and aim to consolidate, flight after flight, our activity in the Italian market, which has always been of absolute strategic importance for Volotea. But that’s not all: the agreement we are signing today represents another important building block for our presence in Naples, an area where we will continue to invest and which will remain a focal point for our business in 2024.”
“We are proud to receive further recognition of the quality of our services from a leading growth company like Volotea,” adds Gianni Lettieri, President and CEO. “This agreement strengthens Volotea’s ties with the city of Naples and our country, confirms the quality of Atitech’s industrial project, and unites two significant entities in European civil aviation.
