Volotea has been the most punctual low cost airline in Europe in the first quarter of 2019 with a 90.4% punctuality rate, according to FlightStats.com

April, 3rd 2019 - Volotea, the airline of mid and small‐sized European cities, is the most punctual low cost airline in Europe, according to the report of the independent airline data performance agency FlightStats for the first quarter of 2019.
Volotea has been the most punctual low cost airline in Europe in these three first months of 2019. Volotea’s on-time arrival performance rate reached 90.4%, according to the statistics published by the leading independent airline consultant agency FlightStats www.flightstats.com (Europe/Low Cost).
Volotea has been outperforming in terms of punctuality in 2019 since the very beginning and stands as the most punctual low cost airline in Europe during this first quarter. 6,000 Volotea flights have been tracked in the quarter showing its excellent reliability as a punctual airline.
In January, the airline was ranked second by this website agency. February ended with Volotea as the third most on-time low cost airline, and March has concluded with Volotea leading the on-time performance table achieving the highest punctuality rate with 91.3% of its flights arriving on schedule. In the whole quarter, Volotea is ranked as the most punctual airline in Europe in the LCC category, with an overall 90.4% on-time arrival performance rate.
Volotea is also one of the airlines with the lowest cancellation rates in the world. The airline`s regularity rate reached 99.83% in 2018. Out of more of 52,000 flights operated last year, only 88 were cancelled, including weather and third-party related issues. In the first quarter of 2019, no flights have been cancelled by Volotea.
Volotea enjoyed a significant increase in operations and number of clients in 2018, carrying 6.57 million passengers in 2018, up 36% year-on-year. In the first quarter of 2019, the airline welcomed on board more than 700,000 passengers being again one of the fastest growing large LCC in the European Union. Volotea celebrated its twenty million passengers in October 2018 and this week will celebrate its seventh anniversary by carrying its twenty-second million passenger.
Volotea is also among the airlines in the world which have launched more number of routes. In 2019, 41 new routes will be served added up to a line-up of 320 connections among more than 80 European capitals in 13 countries.
Volotea’s client recommendation rate showed also an outstanding 93.4% in which on-time flight performance was valued as the second best topic, being the first one “Cabin crew friendliness”.

Volotea has employed over 1,000 people in summer 2018 capitalizing in its activity growth. In 2019, 200 new positions will be created.
In 2019, Volotea operates its network with 34 aircraft, Boeing 717s and Airbus A319s. Both models are recognized for their comfort and reliability, with Volotea offering reclining seats which are 5% wider than the average in airlines.
The Airbus A319 is the aircraft model selected for its future growth and will allow the company to increase its passenger capacity by 25% to 156 seats and to serve longer routes.
The airline was selected by TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice 2017 as the best airline based in France, Italy and Spain in the “Europe Regional and Low Cost” category. Volotea achieves a 90% recommendation rate among its clients.
