OF MENORCA
Our local ambassadors discover the most authentic spots for you.
IS THERE ANYTHING MORE ROMANTIC THAN LOSING YOURSELF IN MENORCA (MAHON)?
If you are looking for the most authentic essence of the Mediterranean, Menorca is the destination for you. The second largest island by size in the Balearics, this magical land is the ideal refuge to escape to a beautiful sea and discovering unique landscapes. The spectacular nature of Menorca, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, hides dozens of amazing coves and beaches, many of which are waiting to be discovered. The diverse scenery offers something to everyone, the north coast is wild and beautiful, with incredible, dark sandy beaches, such as Cavalleria and Pregonda, whereas the south homes picture-perfect bays with pure white sand and turquoise waters, including the unmissable Cala Macarella, Turqueta, and Mitjana.
If you enjoy trekking, do not miss out on a walk along the Camí de Cavalls, the historic trail divided into twenty stretches that goes right around the island, passing through pine woods, rocky cliffs, green pastures, and beaches. If, on the other hand, you prefer urban environments and architecture, stop off at Ciutadella, the elegant, ancient capital, with a picturesque port and a fascinating old town, packed with history. Also, you should wander around the lovely quaint towns of white houses that stud the island’s countryside, where time seems to stand still. A visit to the S’Albufera des Grau Nature Park, on the other hand, will allow you to admire the diverse local ecosystems: wetlands, woods, dunes, islets, and seagrass meadows.
Whatever your idea of a holiday is, and whatever activities you would choose to do, we are sure the charm of Menorca will win you over as soon as you set foot on the island.
