Zaragoza: the capital of the Río Ebro. For over two thousand years, the city has been a melting pot of different cultures living alongside one another, which has turned it into a fast-paced, modern, welcoming city. Make sure not to miss its two amazing cathedrals: the Basílica del Pilar - the biggest Baroque church in Spain - and the splendid Catedral de San Salvador.
The Monasterio de Piedra. Located 112 km from Zaragoza, the Monasterio de Piedra is a Natural Park where the Piedra river has carved out a series of impressive, fairy-tale waterfalls, a crystal-clear lake and some incredibly beautiful caves amongst the lush vegetation. Finish off your visit with a trip to the 12th-century Cistercian monastery itself, where you can explore the cloisters, the chapterhouse, the kitchens, the wine cellar and granary, the dining room, the altar and the church.
Moncayo Natural Park. It's time to fall under the spell of the Moncayo Natural Park, the peak of the Sistema Ibérico mountain range. The vegetation on the mountainside varies from Mediterranean species at the base of the high-mountain flora 1500 meters further up. Its amazing beech forest is one of the southernmost in Europe, making autumn a spectacular time to admire the mountain wood's kaleidoscope of colors.
Slow Driving in Aragón. Slow Driving Aragón was inspired by the popular "slow" movement. Drag yourself away from the everyday hustle and bustle, switch off and embrace the calm. Encounter out-of-the-way places where you can enjoy genuine experiences and discover the joy of driving at a speed that lets you stay in touch with nature.
The Majestic Loarre Castle (Huesca). This iconic fortress, built between the 11th and 12th centuries, is close to the city of Huesca and just a few kilometers from the majestic Mallos de Riglos. Loarre is Aragón's most spectacular castle and is considered to be one of the best preserved Romanesque castles in Europe.
Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. The breathtaking Ordesa Valley is a National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is home to the highest limestone massif in Europe which culminates in Monte Perdido, the third-highest peak in the Pyrenees. The dramatic Ordesa, Pineta and Añisclo valleys were carved by glaciers. The park is an authentic paradise for nature-lovers.
Albarracín: travel back in time near Teruel. Aragón has plenty of villages with Conjunto Histórico (listed) status, and Albarracín is a fantastic example. It's considered to be one of Spain's prettiest towns; visit it for an unforgettable experience. With its absolutely magical atmosphere, Albarracín is like an open-air museum.
